Turn your holiday dream into awesome reality!
Blessed with a spectacular natural beauty, the tropical island of Mauritius offers you simply fabulous weather and sailing conditions guaranteeing you a holiday you’ll remember for years.
Whether you’re an experienced sailor looking for a demanding Indian Ocean Sail-Away or you’re a novice looking to build some skills in the exotic but safe lagoons around the hotel, this is without doubt the finest year-round sailing holiday on offer - and it’s more affordable than you might think.
“Wildwind have got it right …. again. They’ve chosen the best winter sailing location they can find, transferred some of their best staff, made friends with everyone locally and created the right atmosphere for a great holiday” - William Sunnucks, long time Cat sailor and Olympic campaigner.”
Our great selection of dinghies and catamarans waits for you on the beach, fully rigged and ready to set sail. As you’d expect our centre is RYA recognised, ensuring excellent standards of teaching and safety from our skilled and qualified instructors.
There are two distinct sailing areas next to your hotel. The protected inner bay has light cross-shore breezes and is perfect if you’re just learning to sail or you’re working on improving your skill set. Just outside of the reef the winds are stronger, ideal for blasting in controlled sessions out at sea, or for our ‘Sail-Aways’ where you’ll have a chance to explore nearby islands and yet more stunningly beautiful and pristine beaches.
If you don’t want to spend every day sailing there is so much to do and see on the island that you’ll be spoiled for choice. Do have a look at our 'Mauritius page' to learn a little more about the island and its end-less possibilities.
‘Mauritius was made first, then heaven’ - Mark Twain
We’re based at the welcoming Coral Azur hotel, well known for its intimate and personal service. Located directly on one of the island’s many beaches, and with lush gardens, the hotel provides rooms with private balconies, a pool and Jacuzzi with its views of the ocean and spectacular sunsets, it also offers a tennis court, childcare facilities, kayaking and glass bottom boats for viewing the underwater life of the reefs, great restaurants as well as a spa offering pampering massages and treatments.
Mauritius is a destination much in demand especially at certain times of the year. Though it is a 10 or 11-hour flight from much of northern Europe, flights and our accommodation can often be in short supply – so please if you’re seriously considering taking a holiday with us we really do recommend you get in touch as early as possible. In general, non peak season flights from the UK are around the £650-800 plus mark, and a one week’s stay based on half-board and full access to our sailing programme, instruction and ‘Sail Aways’ start at £943 per person.
“It’s really no wonder that Wildwind has the reputation of being the holiday centre that real sailors want to go to. The amazing variety of equipment along with the unbeatable sailing conditions and the relaxed but extremely professional attitude of all of the instructors make it a truly unique place.” - Laura Baldwin, Olympic Europe class competitor Athens 2004
